Panizzi managed to score third place in the seasons opener for the WRC05, after some difficults threw the event. On the second day Panizzi set a scratch, a first since New-Zealand 2002, and finishing the event on the podium, a first since 2000.
Both Lancer WRC05 crews claim driver and manufacturer points in season-opening event.
Mitsubishi has reveiled more information regarding the forthcoming Evolution 9.
The car will be released in Europe with power up from 265 to 281 bhp. All cars will have a revised suspension and modified ACD and SAYC. These will be sold via the official dealership in Europe.
The car will also be available via Ralliart affiliates in another form, probably RS or GT-version as a base for rally cars. More specs can be found here soon.
Evolution 9 semi-official updates:
1) RS 5 Speed (200 units only)
- new alloys
- new front bumper
- new mivec engine 20% lower down torque
GSR = 40.8 kg at 3000rpm
GT = 41.5 kg at 3000rpm
- new magenesium titanium turbo
- carbon spoiler
- aluminium roof and impact bars
17 inch wheels and brembos has become an option again, passenger airbag is an option as well.
2) GT 5 Speed Group-n homologated (1800 units) - as above plus:
- bilstein suspension
- recaro full bucket seats
- sport abs
3) GSR 6 Speed (5000 units) - as RS but new turbo as option
- SAYC
- bilstein suspension
- projector fogs
- leather recaro bucket seats
- sports abs
Colours: as per last year but medium purplish grey mica replaced with blue mica.
