Harri Rovanpera and Risto Pietiläen finished Rally Australia in second place behind Belgian Francois Duval who managed his first victory for Citroen in the FA World Rally Championship. Team-mates Gigi Galli and Guido d.Amore finished a good fifth.

The Mitsubishi Motorsport crew of Harri Rovanpera Risto Pietiläen finished Rally Catalunya, the penultimate round of the FIA World Rally Championship, fifth f the registered contenders and 10th overall. Team-mates Gigi Galli and Guido d.Amore were forced out but a fastest stage time underlined the progress and potential of the Mitsubishi Lancer WRC05 on asphalt.
