handle with care!

Take place in the car and turn the key on for about one second and start the engine. Drive away quickly so that all mechanics are warmed-up equally. Don't push the rev-counter further then 3000 rpm for the first 6 kms, also be care to shift slowly threw the gears. Build things up smoothly and definately wait another 6 kms before pushing the car to its maximum. Be care to have warm tires and brakes, otherwise the car won't be doing what you expect he'll do.

If you just bought your lancer evo give yourself TIME to drive the car and learn to drive it! It may take a year before you know the car! Certainly people who are used to drive 2wd cars shouldn't be over-estimating theirselves.

At the end of your drive calculate 3-5 kms to cool down the car, give the turbo chance to cool itself down. Take care to leave the brakes untouched when you having a still-stand at the traffic lights nor don't pull up the handbrake to park the car when you just drove the car with heavy braking, put the car in gear instead. Avoid driving in water plashes, this will cause the brake discs to transform which will cause the steering wheel / brakes to tremble during breaking.

Try to build in maintenance schedules every 3000-5000 kms. Also check at intervals of 1000 kms engine oil and brake oil. Tires should last for approximately 5000 kms if you drive the car like they to in rallying (Bridgestone S03). Front brakes will last about 3k, rear brakes about 5k...

If you drive the car and it suddenly oversteers heavily be sure not to release throttle, have the wheels straight forward and push the accelerator. This is the only way to escape from going out.

This car is very likely to be the best allround roadcar you can get. I assure you nobody will follow you in narrow roads except another evo..
